This time we bring you a somewhat different Inside the Tanks episode! We have teamed up with our colleagues from Wargaming Asia to go “down under” to Australia and bring you this unique episode.
We have visited the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum () which opened to the public on Saturday the 6th September 2014. The collection consists of over 90 armoured vehicles and artillery pieces and we will focus on one very iconic tank – the T-72!

08.11.2022I just visited this museum. Its up in Cairnes, Australia. It is one of the most badass museums I have ever seen and I cannot recommend visiting strongly enough if you are interested in getting a feel for the immensity of artillary and main battle tanks. They are huge. There is so much information that when you buy a single ticket, its good for the next three days!

07.11.2022It is funny how people (because of the T72) usually think all auto loading systems are bad xD
Just because your beloved M1 does not have an auto loader does not mean it is a bad idea. The T-72 was actually a great design at it´s time. It was small, light, cheap, mobile and had a lot of firepower.

07.11.2022All tanks are pretty obsolete and vulnerable, but still useful because of their firepower.

07.11.2022The best exit is not the turret cos 99% of the time thats where the turret pops off and burns the rest of the crew he want to exit under the tank.

05.11.2022I've been T-72 commander 20 years ago. It was cool time. Of course nowadays, they are not a competition for other tanks. But still can fiddle with Civilians as Russia is showing now in Ukraine. Bustatrds

04.11.2022its crazy how far human engineering has come yet we still cant find an efficient way to have single man tanks, not even 2 man tanks, i guess its hard to make it so armored and such a massive turret, with so much tech and mechanisms in the way, be cool if they could get like an abrams sized tank down to one man

04.11.2022While it is old, it can still kill you the old fashioned way.
I don't like Russian tanks in general, but this has a certain, albeit somewhat clunky, elegance of purpose. I would not like to be out in the field for a long time in that though. One thing that not many mention when talking about the removal of a crewman for loading, is the loss of a pair of hands – I'd rather have the extra body, and not just for putting rounds into the tube, there's so much other work to be done all the time.

04.11.2022Well sir I suppose u could make a bit less than tank.
Craig Ross
04.11.2022If the gun was fully auto you could make a tiny tank and have the crew a thousand miles away, controlling it like a drone.

04.11.2022I bet this tank in the museum works better than the tanks of the russian army in ukraine

04.11.2022Absolute junk. At least it’s won the tank turret pop off contest of all time… 🎉
