sorry not sorry, wings of liberty cinematic did it better, CMC armor also looks more believable then space marine power armor, you can actually see the moving parts and support structures on CMC armor, it is very much a personal taste thing and im not going t get into the (which one is better) argument because i dont care they are both cool.
yeesh, no wonder games workshop policy is to have their their legal department take the nuclear option whenever their fanbase makes an animation if that's the best they can do.
How the two distinguish themselves is really interesting because they're similar but the details are exact opposites. In 40k, serving your chapter and the Emperor is viewed as a great honor, the space marines are these genetically engineered super soldiers, armoring themselves is a ritual which fits their superstitious views on machines, and how they get armored is closer to how a knight would since it's basically just plated armor. Meanwhile, it seems becoming a space marine in StarCraft is a punishment for prisoners like a death sentence, the soldiers seem to be cybernetically enhanced going by the ports on his body rather than genetically, getting armored up looks more like an assembly line which makes sense as he's a prisoner and viewed as disposable, and the armor is far more advanced than the armor in 40k which I guessing means they are at the height of their society technologically speaking if something that complex and advanced is given to prisoners to died in.
Pretty interesting how two things can look so similar, but their details make them exact opposites. Like two sides of the same coin.
the adeptus mechanicus will wet their undies if they see the tech of the terran dominion. 40K science has become more of faith than technology, the SC world is much more closer to science.
They are technically of different utilities. In star craft marines are taken from cyrochambers land then put in suits (half of the Terran marines are convicts), where as warhammer space marines are genetically modified humans… who are essentially the special forces in that universe.
I will always miss the first born style there was something very iconic about it especially after the astartes animator. But sc animators are so good, miss em
the starcraft armor looks much better, that how proper power armor should look. meanwhile the space marine looks like an edgy toy. plus its an ultra marine, the most boring kind of marine. with that said power armor is for pansies.
SC is a little closer to things like the Vietnam war, while WH is closer to the warring states of ancient Europe. SC is a lot darker since it can have parts that hit closer to reality
Alright, I get it. One is a tin can, the other is a demigod. Let’s talk about how great the animation looks for both suit ups, instead of why Warhammer stomps everything ever, again.
For me, the starcraft version is better because of the satisfying animation with the incredible attention to details while warhammer looks a bit bland in the armouring because it looks like lego pieces being connected to each other. this is just a personal opinion.
Main difference: space marines are Zealot holy warriors with a strong demeanor and an unbreakable spirit. Terran marines are just USMC soldiers on steroids equipped for unleashing mayhem
The problem with the 40K Space Marines is that they're not actually marine-marines. They're groups of literal space crusader knight orders. Much of their culture is heavy in ritual, religious rites, oaths, etc. Clearly based far more on the Templars, Teutonics and Hospitallers than the typical "Ooo-Rah!" space marines of Aliens, Halo, etc. Not sure why Games Workship didn't call them Space Knights instead.
I'm being a fan of starcraft for lime 10 years, being a fan of warhammer for 3 or 4, and I'm 100% sure that any space marine, could absolutely demolish Tychus that is a badass Marine, maybe even if he is carrying his Minigun.
A normal starcraft marine has in average 7 feet with a rifle capable of hurting other Marines, by using a supersonic 8mm bullet which can penetrate up to two inches of steel plating, they have in the game 0 armor, the same as an armored military jeep or a sniper unit. Meaning their armor, it's not that tough. They are fast but can't keep up with cars or Assassins and have a basic life support
A normal Space Marine from 40k is 11 feet with a boltgun, basically a Full automatic RPG with a penetrating explosive round the size of a soda can, and they can easily hurt another space marine, Their armor also is impervious to damage to anything below our modern 50bmg, meaning if one were to appear in our world the only "portable" weapon capable of hurting them would be the strongest class of sniper round available, They can outrun cars and tanks, they can jump extremely high because of the superhuman strength combined with their jetpack, they have a backpack with pretty much infinite energy, they have a melee weapon that can cut another space marine armor and tanks, they have an excellent life support that even if fails, they can keep fighting for days or even months without a problem because their bodies are manufactured to be fortresses, they can spit acid toxins, they can survive in a forced coma to up to 300 years, they live for thousands of years, they are virtually immune to disease, sickness and poisons, and most of them also are resistant to mind-altering or bending magic/warm manipulation and have reinforced bones and muscles, have extra organs to increase blood pumping and filtration. They can go days without food or water, and if I'm not wrong can go days without sleep too. I don't think starcraft marines would have much of a chance to be honest, I think a space Marine would be more equivalent to a single Ultralisk, the ultralisk is 16 feet tall, the space marine is 11 feet, the ultralisk can rip armored cars and several soldiers at once, they are almost impervious to damage but can be badly hurt by penetrating shells of tanks and artillery, basically they can damage each other, the difference is that Space marines are used to fight against worst things with more armor and intelligence, so I think in a 1×1 a Space marine could kill a single ultralisk, I don't think a Starcraft Marine could do that because their weapons can't even damage the thing.
