Early Lead For Riders 9U Seals Fate For Westco Storm 10U
Westco Storm 10U fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-6 loss to Riders 9U on Saturday.
Riders 9U scored on a single by Maxton and a single by Boone in the first inning. Despite the loss, Westco Storm 10U did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Riders 9U had five hits on the way to victory.
Riders 9U fired up the offense in the first inning. Riders 9U scored one run when Maxton singled. Westco Storm 10U put up three runs in the fifth inning.
The offensive onslaught by Westco Storm 10U was led by Jordan G and Auggie K, all driving in runs in the frame. Riders 9U scored three runs in the second inning. Jackoby, Miles, and Rylan all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Maxton was the winning pitcher for Riders 9U. The ace lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. Aaron, Wyatt, and Elliott all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Jordan took the loss for Westco Storm 10U. The righthander surrendered seven runs on four hits over three innings, striking out one.
Sawyer K went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Westco Storm 10U in hits. Maxton led Riders 9U with three hits in three at bats. Riders 9U was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jackoby had the most chances in the field with six.
